Blue Limestone is a dense, high-performance sedimentary rock that is distinct from marble in its geological composition and maintenance requirements. It is particularly valued for its versatility in outdoor environments where acidic resistance and slip-rating are critical. The stone's color is a natural blue-grey that can range from a deep charcoal in its flamed state to a soft dove-grey when honed, providing a range of design options for landscape architects.

Finishes and Anti-Slip Performance

We offer five standard finishes to meet specific site requirements: honed and polished for interiors; flamed, bush-hammered, and sandblasted for exteriors. The bush-hammered and flamed finishes provide the highest grip levels, making them safe for public walkways and wet areas around swimming pools. The 20mm thickness is the standard for both interior and exterior mortar-bed installations.

Blue Limestone is a heavy material; we ensure all crates are palletized for easy forklift handling and labeled by finish type. While the stone is exceptionally durable, it is susceptible to staining from oils if not sealed. We recommend pre-sealing the tiles for exterior projects.
